The Napa Valley Masters Water Polo family lost a dear friend recently. Our teammate Scott Victor passed away last month and we will miss him dearly.
Scott Victor was an integral part of the Napa Valley Masters Water polo community since the program began 20+ years ago under the leadership of Mike Garibaldi.
Scott was always one of the first people to introduce himself to newcomers on the pool deck, and shared his love of water polo with coworkers, friends and family.
The Napa Valley Masters Water polo team is not just a community, but a family. Scott Victor was a brother, friend, and a teammate. He truly and warmly embodied the spirit of NVMWP as he traveled the world sharing our sport with so many people.
Scott supported and encouraged his NOVA employees and interns to attend NVMWP water polo practices during their lunch breaks. Many of them becoming longtime members.
We will forever miss Scott’s friendship and passion for the sport.
Scott’s family is asking for donations to Napa Valley Masters water polo in lieu of flowers in Scott’s honor. Napa Valley Masters Water polo team is accepting donations (see the form below) to create a memorial scholarship in Scott’s honor. The proceeds of this fund will be donated to a graduating, college-bound student from one of the Napa Valley high schools who has thrived in and benefited from the local water polo community and will carry on with water polo in some way during their college years.
